For citizens of countries that require a visa to enter the Schengen Area (including India).
The Schengen Visa (Type C) allows short-term stays in Slovakia and all Schengen member states for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
📌 Purpose of Travel
This visa may be issued for:
- Tourism and leisure travel
- Business meetings and conferences
- Visiting family or friends
- Cultural or sports events
- Short-term academic programs (under 90 days)
- Medical treatment
This visa does not permit long-term residence or employment.
🗓 Validity
- Maximum stay: 90 days in any rolling 180-day period
- May be issued as Single-entry, Double-entry, or Multiple-entry
The visa validity period does not automatically mean you can stay the full duration. Always check the “Duration of Stay” indicated on the visa sticker.
💶 Visa Fee
- Adults: €90
- Children (6–11 years): €45
- Children under 6: Free
Additional service charges may apply if applying through a visa application center. Fees are generally non-refundable, even in case of refusal.
⏳ Processing Time
- Standard processing time: 15 calendar days
- May extend up to 45 days in complex cases or peak seasons
Applicants are advised to apply at least 3–4 weeks before intended travel.

- Valid passport (issued within last 10 years, valid 3 months beyond departure)
- Completed Schengen visa application form
- Recent biometric photograph
- Travel medical insurance (minimum €30,000 coverage)
- Proof of accommodation in Slovakia
- Flight reservation (round trip)
- Proof of sufficient financial means
- Cover letter explaining purpose of travel
- Supporting documents based on purpose (invitation letter, registration proof, etc.)
All documents must be genuine and verifiable.

Applicants must demonstrate sufficient funds to cover:
- Accommodation
- Daily living expenses
- Return travel
Authorities may request bank statements (typically last 3–6 months) and proof of income.

- Does not allow employment or income-generating activity
- Does not automatically convert into long-term residence
- Overstaying may result in fines, entry bans, or future visa refusal
- Border authorities may request supporting documents upon arrival
